County Court Case Files


Series documents the actions of the county court in civil and some criminal cases. Records include complaints, judgments, decrees, summonses, warrants, affidavits, writs, and an index. County court cases include spousal support, employment compensation, satisfaction of judgments, and divorce. Information includes judge, plaintiff, defendant, and attorney names; case type; and filing dates of actions and decrees.

Records at the Oregon State Archives:
County Court Documents [includes judicial and administrative records], 1853-1933 (.50 cu.ft.).

Records at the Marion County Archives:
County Court Case Files [includes civil, criminal, juvenile, and some widow's pension, and dependent mother's assistance cases-accession no. 04.035], no. 1-2786, 1859-1941 (10 cu.ft.);
County Court, Circuit Court, & Justice Court Case Files [primarily relates to juvenile cases-title varies-with gaps], no. 2787-11607, 1941-1979 (9 cu.ft.).
