About the scenic images
Over 2,600 photos show scenes from every corner of Oregon. The images illustrate the geographic
and cultural context and diversity of the state's 36 counties. Currently, the counties are represented by 52 to 100 images each.
Keyword searching
The images are designed to be browsed by county but image captions can be searched by using the search guide option at the top and bottom of each page. Type in scenic and then a keyword such as sunset, barn, church, or lake.
Image use
The 72 dpi JPEG images displayed in the Oregon Historical County Records
Guide may be used free of charge without permission provided that the
photo credit
shown below is given. Use of the photos implies agreement to the following terms and conditions.
1.) The images are taken for use in the copyrighted Oregon Blue Book and other state publications.
2.) The Oregon State Archives holds custody of the photos and sets conditions of use.
3.) The photos may be used in Web sites and other personal or commercial activities.
4.) However, the user may not sell or transfer the rights to use the photos to other parties.
