November 2, 2000 - The Web
version of the "Sold in Oregon"
trademarks exhibit is now available. In addition to the 174
trademarks, it features educational resources and links to

October 12, 2000 - Sold in
Oregon: an
exhibit of 174 historical trademarks is on display in the
lobby of the Oregon State Archives Building.
November 30, 2000 - The Archives
Division will hold an Administrative Rule Hearing on
December 18, 2000. The hearing will be at 10:00am in the
large Conference Room at the Archives Building, 800 Summer
St. NE, Salem, OR.
The proposed rules relate to OAR Chapter 166-108 (County
Juvenile Department), 166-111 (District Attorney), 166-103
(County Financial) 166-200 (City Financial), 166-408
(Schools, School Districts, and ESD's Financial), and
166-450 (Community

September 14, 2000 - Administrative
Rules announces a new search engine for the Administrative
Rules Compilation. It allows phrase searching and the
ability to search either the whole compilation or just one
agency's rules. Try

September 7, 2000 - Records
Management adds 'State
Records Center to the
Rescue' video to its web-based training program. The video is an
informative and humorous streaming presentation highlighting
the benefits of using the State Records Center. Includes
detailed instructional material on how place your inactive
state government records in this facility.
August 23, 2000 - The Klamath
County section of the Oregon Historical County Records Guide
has been completely updated. The guide is available on the genealogy page.
August 22, 2000 - Amateur
photographers are encouraged to enter the Oregon Blue Book
Cover Photo Contest.
August 1, 2000 - The Oregon
Historical County Records Guide has been redesigned and expanded. It now includes scenic
images, links to related USGenWeb indexes and lists, and

July 31, 2000 - The Clackamas
County section of the Oregon Historical County Records Guide

Archives now offers Web-based records management training
for county government on the records
management page. Each of the
three training sessions features an audio-visual
presentation followed by a short 10 question
quiz.

15, 2000 - City of Portland births dating from 1881 to 1899
are now indexed. The index can be accessed from the genealogy page.

17, 2000 - Volunteers have indexed more records in the
holdings of the Oregon State Archives bringing the total
number of entries in the Oregon
Historical Records Index to
174,419. The new entries are Grant County divorces,
1872-1906 and Umatilla County census, 1865.

11, 2000 - The exhibit "They Sacrificed for our Survival:
The Indian Boarding School Experience" will be on display in
the gallery of the Oregon State Archives from April 14 to

will perform on April 19th at 1:00 PM at the Archives
Building.

14, 2000 - A panel discussion relating to the Indian
Boarding School experience will be held at the Veterans'

19th at 2:00 PM.

14, 2000 The Online
Oregon Bluebook has been updated and revised. There are now over 1000 pages
of Oregon History, state agency information, and even a
'kids' section.
December
2, 1999 - Audio files of Oregon Legislative Committee
Meetings have been linked to written minutes for a portion
of the 1999
Session. The Legislature started
to create these RealAudio(c) files in April, 1999. This
provides a seamless reference service to online legislative
researchers.
November
17, 1999 - Union and Clatsop counties have been
reinventoried and updated for the Oregon
Historical County Records Guide. Oregon
Governors records
inventories have been updated and
include Governor Tom McCall.

2, 1999 - Yamhill, Malheur, and Tillamook counties have been
reinventoried and updated for the Oregon
Historical County Records
Guide.

Committee Minutes are now available online.
